This seemed to be the favorite property, from all of you who answered (Thanks, by the way!), and it is in our price range. We’d have an extra $25,000 approximately to install fencing, if it is not already there, and possibly turn one of the outbuildings into a guest cottage, or add an additional stall to the barn, for boarding. If our budget is any higher, we’d like to add an additional bathroom, and bedroom and maybe expand one of the existing rooms. The barn seems in wonderful shape, from what I can tell. Also, we are huge L.L. Bean fans, and its right around the corner, so we are lucky! This is the property:

What are the pros, and cons of this property? what should be done, and what does not need work?

its actually great. you just need to install a good fence and as long as the barns are in good condition it looks perfect, just make sure all the grass is edible and if you want you can add an irrigation system to water all the grass and even add water to a trough, but that can be extremely expensive

It looks nice, I see lots of pros to it as a horse property. The only thing I’d worry about is how is this “antique” house insulated and heated? Unless it has been updated recently, you might be paying A LOT to heat it through a Maine winter, especially if all the heat is leaking out of the house through the walls, roof, and old windows!
